The year is 2020, the Democrats have just beaten their most frightening opponent in history. They liberated America from potential authoritarianism, retained the House, gained new ground in former Republican strongholds, won back the blue wall, and received the most votes for any candidate in history. Everyone is upset.

Instead of celebrating this win, even though many did, the majority of liberals on Twitter have been boohooing about how much Joe Biden and the other Democrats underperformed. What else did you want? Yes, Biden didn’t win Texas. Yes, Biden didn’t win Florida. And yes, some of the most powerful, popular…

The final opportunity for campaigning before a national audience is now past us. Biden and Trump have both made their cases now. Many pundits and commentators have given their thoughts on which candidate won the debate and which lost. I thought it would be interesting to look at who or what won and lost this debate besides the candidates. Here are my picks.

Loser: The Trump Campaign

The current consensus is that Trump won the debate, based on the fact that he cleared the bar set by his toddler-like performance in the first debate. It’s funny how often the media…

Keith Olbermann, who may be best known for his days as one half of the wisecracking Sports Center duo with Dan Patrick in the 1990s, is reinventing himself as a political commentator (for the umpteenth time). Olbermann now has a new daily YouTube series called “Worst Person In The World.” Each installment is no less than fifteen minutes and features Olbermann using incredibly charged language against President Trump, his supporters, and others in Trump’s sphere. Olbermann has referred to Trump as a “terrorist,” his supporters as “trailer park trash idiots,” and his White House staff as “flying monkeys.” …

This April break I was vacationing and visiting a few colleges in Southern California. At some point, before we left, I realized that the Clippers and Warriors would be playing Game 3 at the Staples Center the same day we’d be staying at the hotel across from it. Quickly checking SeatGeek, I realized there was probably no chance I’d be able to score a ticket for the matchup between these two California teams. I also doubted that the Staples Center would grant a sportswriter for a high school news magazine in Maine media credentials.

My observations would have to come…

The 2018–2019 National Basketball Association’s season is nearing its end. It’s been a good season for a great many teams. Innovative stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard and their respective teams are dazzling fans and pundits, seemingly setting records daily. LeBron James is also playing, albeit occasionally. However, there’s a shocking number of teams that don’t appear to be trying anymore. This isn’t because of a major player getting injured or a particularly rough schedule. They deliberately don’t want to win. It’s called tanking.

It’s not a problem endemic to basketball either, teams across all professional sports have…
